MS SKEETER DAVIS 1967, RARE FOOTAGE OF JUNIOR HUSKEY ONE OF THE MASTERS OF THE UPRIGHT BASS

In my opinion, this clip really captures the wonderful overdriven tone of the DM 25 with a Les Paul Standard. I'm using a 2003 R9 equipped with a pair of Throbak SLE-101 LTD pickups. Thanks for listening!

Video demonstrates the features and sound of a very rare, 1964 Danelectro DS-50 amplifier. The "bigger brother" of the DM-25, this amp featured an ss-rectified 2x6L6 power section with reverb and whacky vibrato/tremolo. The thing is LOUD! In the video, the amp is played clean and dirty and the various controls are used to change the sound.

The 1958 Silvertone model 1394 amp is a pretty rare beast... It was made by Danelectro and was only offered for a year or two. This one has been recapped but has the original UTAH AlNiCo speaker, and runs 6AU6 and 12AX7 pre-amp tubes, (2) 6L6 output tubes, and a 5Y3 rectifier...

The Model 1341 is similar to an early Fender 5C1 Tweed Champ Amp, made about the same time. It was made for one Sears catalog cycle only - in the Spring/Summer of 1954 - and then was never seen again. It is a very simple, elegant, single-ended 6V6 circuit with a 6SL7 preamp tube and a 5Y3 rectifier.

Here is a demo of my 1956 Sears Roebuck Silvetone 115 Combo Guitar Amplifier. The amp is Class AB with two 6L6GCs in the power section. Originally it would have had the older 6L6. The tone is killer for rock and blues. Great, thick overdrive.

This is a demo of some old department store guitar gear - a 1958 Danelectro-Made Montgomery Ward amp and a 1960 Silvertone Harmony H46 Stratotone Mars Model 1420. I also use a 1995 Gibson Les Paul Studio to demonstrate the amp's higher gain sound. Sorry for the slightly disjointed demo...I had not yet had my coffee!

Here is a demo of anther old 50s amp - this time a late 1950s Airline TV-front Montgomery Ward Model 85GDR8513. It was made by Danelectro. The guitars are a 1966 Holiday Harmony H45 Stratotone Mars and a 1966 Gibson SG Custom with Wolfetone Marshallhead pickups.

Here is a tone demo of a 1964 Silvertone 1481 1x8" combo, single-ended 6V6 amp with a 1964 SG Special with factory Bigsby. Both items are for sale. Message me to inquire.

This is the second 1482 I've demonstrated on Youtube. The crunch on this one is every bit as good as the other one. Silvertone Amps are MONSTERS! Killer crunch tone! Find tons of other vintage and unusual guitars and amps: Guitologist.com Facebook.com/Guitologist

Here is another demo of the 1966 Silvertone 1482 by Danelectro. In this video I bridge the channels to get a tiny bit of extra oomph. It sounds absolutely amazing. The overdrive is gritty and cutting. It is very rock and roll. It's no wonder these are so prized in the studio.

Here's a demonstration of my 1951 Silvertone Model 1344 Guitar Amplifier. It's a 112 Combo. It has Volume. Bass, Treble, and Tremolo controls. It features a 12" Rola AlNiCo field coil speaker, which sounds GREAT, and the overdrive tone is delicious. Awesome overdrive.

Woah, one of the rarest, coolest, just awesome...est, I don't even know what to say about this one. I wish Danelectro made enough for everyone who wants one! http://drowninginguitars.com/ http://www.mikedugan.com/ http://www.danoshappyguitar.com/

This guitar is part of the HUGE Danelectro collection of Dave D'Amelio. This 12 string Coral is in beautiful condition and sounds great! Mike is playing it through a vintage Ampeg Gemini I with some echo thrown in for good measure. http://www.danoshappyguitar.com/ http://www.mikedugan.com/ http://drowninginguitars.com/

Very interesting guitar, from the collection of Dave D'Amelio who owns Dano's Happy Guitar Repair. His link is down below. http://drowninginguitars.com/ http://www.danoshappyguitar.com/ http://www.mikedugan.com/

My favorite of the old Danelectro/Coral guitars! This model has such an interesting body carve, like it's tapered on the edges. Hard to describe... Pete Townshend played one of these for a bit. http://drowninginguitars.com/ http://www.mikedugan.com/

Even the one pickup models are great! http://drowninginguitars.com/ http://www.danoshappyguitar.com/ http://www.mikedugan.com/

Check out the wood grain top...classic! http://drowninginguitars.com/ http://www.danoshappyguitar.com/ http://www.mikedugan.com/

Anybody who's discovered the long scale Danelectro/Silvertone guitars has really stumbled on one of the best kept secrets in guitardom! These guitars just flat out ROCK! Dano Dave D'Amelio is the MAN when it comes to setting these up, and Mike Dugan is the MAN when it comes to tearing them apart!

The funny thing about this demo is this was the first time Mike had ever played a Sitar! We just searched for a few songs he knew contained a Sitar, learned the licks in about ONE MINUTE, and just played a straight take. Mike knew how to play guitar before the Beatles landed in the US!!!

My favorite Coral guitar!! Vincent Bell endorsed, Drowning in Guitars approved! This guitar has had all the really poor tone controls bypassed so it's just straight volume through the two lipstick pickups. Mike Dugan plays this one through a vintage Ampeg Gemini I and a Fulltone OCD. http://www.mikedugan.com/ http://www.danoshappyguitar.com/ http://drowninginguitars.com/

THE VAGRANTS Here's another clip that keeps disappearing !

Sweet performing "Wig Wam Bam" on BBC's Top Of The Pops in 1972. The song was written by Mike Chapman & Nicky Chinn and produced by Phil Wainman The single was originally released by RCA Records in September 1972.

The Skamonics are a London based ska band, playing a unique mix of authentic 60s ska, rock steady, two-tone and completely unexpected covers. This is the frist of three parts from a live gig at the New Cross Inn, London 27/11/2015 The first song is incorrectly captioned - it's Chinatown.

Passionate playing by Jim Cox on the Yamaha piano. Mark with '63 Danelectro DC guitar adds some cool slide licks to Corned Beef City. Effortless groove on drums by Ian Thomas keeps it all going!
